It is an XML based file format used to describe widgets. GLOWE is an open format, allowing it to be implemented on any platform. Key concepts in GLOWE are declarative programming and dataflow programming. This means that all widgets can be represented graphically. When describing widgets as a developer, a widget is told what task it should do instead of how that task should be done. An important aspect in the GLOWE language is data retrieval.
